The more you know

Ahahaha. omg. So, when this was out 'in theatres' (as they say in their charmingly oldtimey way) I went to see it and remember thinking that it was pretty good. Real funny. I couldn't get why so many people were so angered by it, lots of nice effects I thought - that black goo stuff was marvelous right? - things happened and it seemed interesting, Kirsten Dunst's hair looked pretty, why so serious everyone? (I also thought it was cool how I could know The Joker's catchphrase about a year or so ahead of anyone else knowing about it).

In case you hadn't guessed, I was pretty stoned when I went to this movie the first time and I've never been moved to watch it subsequently. Just this minute or so of footage (from a scene that made me LOL and made me LOL HARD at the time) I can sense that, if I were to watch it again sober I'd probably 'get' why everyone else hated it.

Also makes me wonder if it's a good thing I gave up the weed. Went and PAID to see 'Law Abiding Citizen' a few weeks ago and I think I would have gleaned much, much more enjoyment out of that patentently ridonkulous film had I been high. Which brings us back to the age old question of whether it really is better to see things as they actually are, or live in a cocooned bubble where you convince youself that everything is greater than it really is.

Man, Spiderman 3 jazz club scenes are really good at bringing out the existential crises in a girl.
